ABSTRACT: This study explores the benefits of early childhood education (ECE) in reducing absenteeism among young children. Absenteeism poses challenges to educational attainment and social development in early childhood. The objectives are to (1) assess the correlation between participation in ECE programs and reduced absenteeism rates, (2) evaluate the impact of ECE on children's health and attendance patterns, and (3) examine parental perceptions regarding the role of ECE in promoting regular attendance. A survey design is justified as it allows for the collection of quantitative data on attendance rates and qualitative insights into parental attitudes. A sample size of 150 children from preschools in Lagos State was purposively selected. The case study focuses on preschools known for their effective attendance monitoring systems. Findings indicated a significant decrease in absenteeism rates among children enrolled in ECE programs, improved health outcomes, and positive parental attitudes towards ECE's role in promoting regular attendance. Recommendations include expanding access to quality ECE programs and educating parents on the benefits of early educational engagement in reducing absenteeism.
